What are the application deadlines?
MCF runs two funding cycles per year, deadlines for submittal are May 15th and November15th.
How to apply for a grant from MCF?
Please request an electronic version of the grant application by emailing info@moonlightcommunityfoundation.org Please note: application is designed to be completed electronically. Once complete, save file with your organization’s name in the title of the document and forward to info@moonlightcommunityfoundation.org Alternatively, you can mail the completed document to MCF Grants P.O. Box 161013 Big Sky, MT 59716
Do organizations have to have their 501(c)(3) status to apply for a grant?
Yes

Does MCF fund for general operating expenses or do we need a specific program or project?
Your organization should have a very specific plan with measureable impact.
Does MCF donate to individuals?
No
What would increase our likelihood in receiving a grant?

Do we have to use the grant money right away?
Your organization should plan to implement the program or project within 12 months of receiving funds.
Who decides who receives the Harbor DeWaard Scholarships?
An odd numbered subcommittee representing diverse factions of the Moonlight Community.
Who reviews the grants and makes the decisions?
The MCF Board of Directors will review each application thoroughly and a majority vote decides the grantees.
I run a non-profit in Tennessee, can I apply for a grant?
No, the MCF mission statement clearly states that we foster and support opportunities for education, conservancy and youth development that benefit the Big Sky community.
