"Wild Thing" by Kevin Noble
LIVE AUCTION ITEM
43″ x 61″ Black Oak Frame. Nothing captures the American spirit of freedom better than wild horses galloping across the wide open ranges of the West.
From the Artist: When I spend time in what’s known as the Wind River area in Wyoming, I always find myself imagining what it must have been like just a few hundred years ago. Many of these “wild” horses are descendants of the horses brought here by the Spanish, and this one in particular has that look about him. He was with his harem of about ten others and was wildly protective of them. As I was capturing images of the herd from a distance, he spotted me and galloped over to let me know in no uncertain terms who he was. After a combination of very persuasive snorts, grunts, and ground strikes, we quickly came to an understanding that these were indeed his horses. I left his beautiful world as the sun set and the adrenaline faded. What a magnificent and stunning creature.
